This a special performance during the National Flute Asassociation Convention, 2:30 PM, August 13, 2009 in the Marquis Ballroom, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, Times Square in New York City. A Samba will be conducted by its composer and will feature Carol Wincenc with chamber ensemble, percussion & two flute choirs of 40+ performers. Sorry, this is an invited guest only event.

I am Rebecca .Carol's TA at SUNY Stony Brook. Carol has asked me to pass along the following information regarding the performance of Andrew Thomas' A Samba for her "Ruby Anniversary-Gems from New York Composers" concert at the NFA convention in August. If you have not yet been contacted about participating in the flute choir for this piece, please review the information and let me know if you'll be able to join.

There is ONE rehearsal:

Wed, 8/12 from 4pm-6pm
Marriott Marquis Hotel- Marquis Ballroom

The concert is:

Thur, 8/13 at 2:30pm in the Marquis Ballroom
Please dress in all red or all black or a combo of both for concert. (Carol, "Be daring!")

Please bring your own stand to both the rehearsal and the concert.
