When the Shades are Drawn

For those who took over and those who helped them

In the end when the shades are drawn they will be pulled back again.
All things will be clear as a new crystal bowl yet uncut holding the fruits of a life;
shared and hoarded, devoured and sustained, ignored and relished.
Memories of a lifetime; remembered and forgotten will become as one.
No lie, no justification, no settlement of the way all thing were,
will cloak a cold body or warm the old bones from the lack of warmth within.
In the end when the shades are drawn the judge will be the judged.
And the sentence will be ‘forever‘.
